The meaning of the rally

Drive with your own (old) car through the desert to Timbuktu– an adventure that doesn’t cost a lot and you surely won’t forget this trip!

Some facts

- after 3 weeks you’ll be home again

- it’s not expensive (CHF 750.-/Euro 495.- for the participation and about CHF 50.- daily costs,about 800 litres petrol,
return (flight) ticket, VISA and that’s it!

- You don’t need a 4x4 vehicle, with a normal 2 tyres drive you should be able to drive a 5’500 km long distance;
though you need an airbed, a sleeping bag, a pan and a gas (plight) cooker.

- Morocco, Mauritanian and Mali have a lower rate of criminality than most of European counties!

- Corruption’s a problem!!!
But we’ll pass the borders all together (group discount)

– but one thing’s sure, you’ll remember the encounters with the authority even years later…

- Technical problems aren’t excluded, but teamwork and improvisation, not perfection and competition are in the foreground.

- Who’d like to do something good after the rally can support charity work by giving them the vehicle.
